Privacy Policy

SafePaws is built by True Motion LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, what leaves your device, and the choices you have. The short version: the app works mostly on your device, we don't sell personal data, and we only collect what the features need.

Information the app uses

• Camera. The walk scanner analyzes the ground ahead of your animal. Frames are processed on your device to classify the surface. Camera images are not uploaded or stored by us.
• Location. Your location powers the safe walk map, local pavement-heat estimates, and lets hazard reports be pinned where you are. Location is used while you use the app.
• Weather lookups. To estimate paw-burn risk, the app sends approximate coordinates to a weather service (Open-Meteo) to fetch current temperature and UV. No account identifiers are attached.
• Pet profile and settings. Your animal's name, breed, weight, and sensitivity settings are stored on your device.
• Hazard reports. If you report a hazard, the report type, optional note and photo, location, and time are shared to the community safety map. Reports are public but are not linked to your name.

Payments

Premium subscriptions are processed by our payment providers (such as Stripe, Apple, or Google, depending on where you subscribe). We never see or store your full card number. Payment providers process your data under their own privacy policies.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal information.
• We don't show third-party ads or share data with ad networks.
• We don't use your camera images for anything except on-device surface detection.

Aggregated safety data

Community hazard reports and de-identified, aggregated surface data (for example, "this block runs hot in the afternoon") may be used to improve routing and, in the future, shared with partners like cities and veterinary groups to make streets safer for animals. This data does not identify you.

Data retention and deletion

Pet profiles and settings live on your device — deleting the app deletes them. To remove a hazard report you submitted or request deletion of any data we hold, email us and we'll take care of it within 30 days.

Children

SafePaws is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it in the app and update the date at the top of this page.
